I'm Prachi Vartak, the artist behind Prints by StudioP. I trained in advertising and communication design at Sir JJ Institute of Applied Art in Mumbai, and I've worked for years as a graphic and interface designer, a calligrapher, a fine artist and an art educator. I started this studio for three reasons.
The first is that I've always made art: painting in oil, acrylic and ink, brush calligraphy, Indian folk art. Different mediums, the same instinct: make something that resonates. Wall art felt like the right form. It lives with people every day, and it earns its place in a room over time. The canvases here are studio prints, digital compositions I design and rework on screen. My hand-painted originals will come later, and they will always be labelled as such.
The second is that I kept hitting a wall when I tried to find canvas art for my own home. The choices broke into two groups, neither of them right. One was the commodity end: the same generic abstracts you see in every showroom, designs that fill space without adding to it. The other was high-end gallery work at prices that closed off the conversation before it began. There was almost nothing in the middle that felt curated and approachable, designed for real interiors at a price that respected real budgets.
The third is the design background, applied differently. I've spent years thinking about how visual systems hold together: how a brand identity, a product or an interface feels coherent rather than assembled. The same thinking applies to a wall, a room, a home. A piece of art isn't decoration; it's part of the room's character.
So Prints by StudioP is what happens when those three things meet: an artist's instinct, a designer's eye, and a frustration with the options available to people who care about their spaces.
The collection is intentionally small. We add pieces when something feels right, not on a schedule. If a piece doesn't earn its place alongside the others, we don't list it.
